For backpackers, find cheap and good places to sleep and eat is part of the traveling experience. Sometimes it feels great to lose our minds and try some good restaurants. One of the chosen restaurants in Taipei, near the Elephant Mountain Trail, was Nola’s Kitchen.

In Taiwan, you will find the most different and great food in the night markets. The food is so cheap that locals prefer to eat on the streets than cooking at home.

A backpacker in Taiwan tends to eat all the times in the street. It’s in our DNA. Not only because of the cheap food but to have the experience of being close to local people and local culture.

Sometimes is nice to experience something different and, maybe, a bit more expensive. It normal to pay around $3 or $4 for good and incredible food in Asia. But sometimes feels good to go to a cool restaurant, even if you have to pay more.

In Taipei, the Elephant Mountain Trail is a place that you should not miss it. When you go there, first, make a pit stop in the Nola Kitchen restaurant and try the Jambalaya and their craft beer.
